Fibreglass
roofing consists of a single layer GRP
laminate applied in situ over a good quality plywood or OSB deck.
The
roof is finished with pre-formed GRP edge trims and a coat of pigmented
topcoat.
Traditional bitumen-based
roofing systems rely on several layers to
waterproof the roof, each layer usually representing five years of
protection. As the layers break down, the roof eventually leaks.
A fibreglass roof will
outperform almost all traditional and modern
roofing materials, and has the potential
to outlast the structure it is
protecting. It does not require heat unlike bitumen based systems,
eliminating the risk of fire associated with gas fired boilers.
It is applied as one
continuous surface, with no seams or joins where
leaks usually occur.
Because it is constructed in one layer, it is less
labour intensive and quicker to install
than many other roofing systems.
Being maintenance free,
fibreglass roofing is cost effective over the
lifespan of the roof;
in proven applications it has lasted over 30
years and the structure remains sound.
We offer a manufacturers
warranty and BBA Certified systems.
GRP can be used on a range
of applications, including skylights, pipes,
vents, stairs, wall and other roof structures.
In addition, it can be
used for window casements, rooflights and areas such as patios,
walkways, roof gardens etc.
